Botherhood in Islam

In Islam there are no distinctions between persons. You have only to pray one of the congregational prayers in any mosque to see this. The poorest man might be praying next to the richest.

When we take off our shoes and leave them at the door, we remove also any honors and titles and positions of importance we might hold in this world. Prostrate in prayer, with their foreheads touching the ground, begging for mercy from Almighty Allah, all Muslims are equal as brothers. There is perhaps no society on earth that has ever shown such equality and brotherhood.

"All Muslims are like a foundation, each strengthening the other; in such a way they do support each other." (Bukhari :: Book 3 :: Volume 43 :: Hadith 626

Makkah...Here I come!!

I have been busy for days preparing for my trip to Makkah for Hajj. I have been inspecting my wardrobe for abayas, hijabs, shoes..... man! all of these chores are tiring me to bits!!!!!

But wait! Why in the heck would I care if I wear the finest or not! To whom am I trying to impress? The people I will be with or the ONE that calls me back to His House?

Astaghfirullah al adheem! Shaytan indeed has his evil ways in trying to sway the direction of any man!

I should have given more importance preparing for my ibadah and not my abayas because it is Allah WHOM I am trying to impress and not whoever I will meet there. Who cares what I wear, what I look like and what I have!

Besides, Allah looks more into our innermost more than our looks!!!!

"Verily Allah does not look to your bodies nor to your faces but He looks to your hearts," Sahih Muslim Book 32 Hadith 6220

OLD TESTAMENT: IMAGES OF GOD IS PROHIBITED!!!

Leviticus 26:1 " 'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God."

Exodus 20:4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."

Yet, Christians (Catholics and NON-Catholics) DARE to make images and portraits of Allah Almighty Himself, along with images of Angels, Christ, Mary and others!

I have quoted Old Testament and there are those who say that the Old Testament has been superseded by the New Testament, nope, Matthew said its NOT!

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)"

We clearly see that Jesus honored the Old Testament, and forced Christians to follow the unmodified laws of it that have not been replaced by newer ones in the New Testament.

Have the christian ever read the Bible and ponder over it?? have you read how Paul abuse Jesus?

Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-- for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE "

And the christians picture jesus as having a long hair and Paul telling you all that those who have long hair is a disgrace...

1 Corinthians 11:14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has LONG HAIR, it is a disgrace to him.

And Muslims NEVER disrespect Prophet Eesa(alayhis sallam).

Manners of sitting at Friday Prayer

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet(salallahu alayhi wasallam) prohibited to sit on hips by erecting feet, sticking them to the stomach and holding them with hands on Friday while the imam is delivering the sermon.

Sunan Abu Dawud  Book 3  Hadith 1105

Captivity of this Dunya.

Every man starts his day being a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or bringing about its ruin. There are those who were besotted by the beauty and glamour of this dunya. Some were fortunate enough to get out while others have wandered off into the abyss of misguidance, and the only thing that will allow them to escape is death itself.

This world is one big attraction, making those who are in reality a meager and full of weakness look strong and mighty, making those who are ignorant seem intelligent, and portraying those who have been misguided and enslaved to their own desires as being the most guided of people.

Be known that no matter how deluded you are in this life, in reality it is a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing. Had there been any good in it, Allah would have made it a place of reward, and place of dissension of His mercy. But rather made it a place of trial and tribulation and a true prison for the believers.

He who enslave his soul to Allah has indeed liberated it and he who enslave his soul to his whims and desires have indeed wedded its captivity until death comes to him. No one lives for the sake of this dunya except that he will be eaten by it in its entirety or will leave bruised and scarred except for those whom Allah has mercy upon.

Verily the dunya is coming to an end, and the aakhirah is coming to a beginning and they both have children. So be the children of akheerah rather than the children of this dunya. For verily today there is action with no account and tomorrow there's account with no action.

Eeman, not Money, is the Real Blessing

Eeman is something that we have in our heart. It cannot be seen by men though it can be mirrored in our deeds and mannerism.

Blessings are not just in the form of "Money" and "good fortune". As a matter of fact, having a lot of money and having good fortune is just part of our trials in life.

Most often, having  a lot of money changes the perspective of an individual. Good fortune sometimes ignite arrogance in us. This is the kind of trial that is greater than any other form of trial because it plays great deal in our desires. Desires, if being followed, can cause deafness and blindness in our heart.

Quran 38:26 "...follow not your desire for it will mislead you from the Path of Allah..."

Do not be saddened if you are poor (in this life) as long as you have an unwavering eeman because eeman is the only blessing given by Allah that transcend from this life to the akheerah. Eeman is the only provision that we will bring with us in our grave, not the wealth we amass in this life.

Let us wear he garments of eeman and Taqwa as they are the only true garments that cover the 'awrah, and are the only protection from the tribulations of this dunya....

Eavesdropping..

If this person then goes and tells others of the conversation he overheard in order to cause trouble for them, then his sin of spying is compounded by another sin, as the Prophet(SAW) said:

"The eavsdropper will not enter Paradise."[Bukhari, see Fath al-Bari, 10/472].

"O you who believe! avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful." Quran 49:12

"Whoever listens to people's conversations without their permission will have molten lead poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection."[At-Tabrni in al-Kabeer, 11/248-249; see also Saheeh al-Jami', hadith no. 6004]
